Our Trassig ET 55 toddler friendly turf meets all safety standards set by ASTM and CPSC, including standards regulating toxicity and flammability. Toddler friendly means that the yarn on the turf is not abrasive and designed specifically for toddlers to crawl on with bare knees. Unlike landscaping turf, and most turf, this turf has been installed in thousands of daycares around the U.S. with excellent results and satisfaction.

Synthetic turf is a great surfacing option for a playground. It requires little maintenance, looks great, is easy to patch or repair, and will last for years. Synthetic turf provides an aesthetically pleasing alternative to grass and is great for areas where grass is difficult to grow. Synthetic turf also eliminates exposure to the harmful chemical sprays often used to maintain grassy areas.
The reservations people tend to have about synthetic turf are usually related to the black rubber granules many turf areas use as infill, especially on sports fields. Trassig does not use these rubber crumbs. We use rounded sand as infill which is clean play sand that settles at the base of the weave, weighing the turf down and keeping the yarns vertical. This maintains the strength of the field, keeps the turf system cooler and safer, and prolongs its life.
Synthetic turf is also budget-friendly because it is so low maintenance. Turf is easy to repair and relatively simple to install. The only time synthetic turf becomes costly is when it is installed on an irregularly- shaped area that has playground equipment with lots of footings. The cutting and seaming required make the installation labor-intensive which increases the install price. There is also more wasted material and the number of possible layouts is limited. There is less waste when the size of the area is a multiple of 15.
