Proper maintenance of playground equipment, protective surfacing, and other playground features is the best way to keep children safe. As equipment ages, it is exposed to various weather conditions and constant use. This aging process is something that creates problems for site managers and directors and can pose serious safety hazards for playing children. This course is perfect for anyone who is responsible for maintaining a commercial playground space. It is designed to cover all the safety codes that govern playground safety but also trains the student to identify hazards and issues that might become big problems later. The course also covers ways replace parts in most commercial playground equipment and how to fix problems safety surfaces including, rubber tiles, synthetic turf, and poured in place rubber.
