This playground rubber repair kit is an easy DIY solution that quickly solves a small problem before it turns into a big one.
The patch kit is a great remedy for rubber playground surfaces that are damaged, torn, have holes or have shrunk due to freezing and thawing.
What binder do I pick? Aromatic binders are fine for 90% of the applications. They slightly amber the color of the EPDM granules. Pick Aliphatic binders if you care about the ambering effect or you are patching a pool surface or splash pad. This article goes into the difference between Aromatic and Aliphatic binders in more detail. If you are not sure, please call one of our techs at 203-659-0456
If you are looking into patching your playground PIP rubber surface, you could have prevented the damage from occurring in the first place with our DIY Poured In Place Rebinder™.
You will need: A utility knife, a bucket for mixing, a rounded trowel, soapy water and gloves
Due to weather conditions and surface aging, color matching between patches and your original poured in place surface is unlikely. We recommended cutting and installing your patches to look like familiar shapes or designs to ensure aesthetically pleasing results.
Additionally, all patch kits ship with Aromatic Binder which tends to amber lighter shades of EPDM granules. We recommend using our Aliphatic Binder if you would like to reduce ambering.
