What binder do I pick? Aromatic binders are fine for 90% of the applications. They slightly amber the color of the EPDM granules. Pick Aliphatic binders if you care about the ambering effect or you are patching a pool surface or splash pad. You will need: A utility knife, a bucket for mixing, a paint brush, a rounded trowel, soapy water and gloves

Make sure you pick a dry day to patch your rubber running track surface. We recommend over 40 degrees.
Using a sharp utility knife, create a clean cut around the area you would like to patch. When cutting the area, make sure to cut the edges of the area at a 45-degree angle. This will create a stronger bond at the edges of the patch.
Clean the area of all loose granules and debris.
Use the primer your received in your package to prime the edges and the base layer.
Right after you prime, pour all of the rubber granules into the bucket and mix the entire content of the binder in a bucket or lined cardboard box.
Mix the content thoroughly. Make sure that all the rubber granules are coated evenly with the binder. Use the entire amount of binder and the entire amout of rubber that we sent you.
Using a rounded trowel spread the mix onto the area you are patching.
Use a mixture of water and liquid hand soap to lubricate the trowel after each pass.
Secure the area and let cure for 24 to 48 hours.

Our Preschool Playground Is Repaired!

We have a forty-foot long climbing wall which our preschoolers climb along, but the artificial grass at the base was damaged by bikes. Finding matching replacement grass was very difficult and would have gotten damaged again. Now thanks to Trassig, we were able to replace that section of grass with poured-in-place rubber — a permanent solution. Trassig shipped us the materials and our handy man did the repair after watching the Trassig videos. :-)

Genius idea!

We replaced the whole playground surface at one of our properties last year and it was so expensive. We were about to do the same for another one of our complexes and then I found these kits online. A couple giant kits later and our surface is good as new. I wish id found these sooner.
