To clean trowels, tools and mixers while the binders and EPDM stuck to them is done on the field using Xylene, available in most home improvement and paint stores. The key to xylene working is it has to be done before the polyurethane binders, whether they are aromatic or aliphaitc, set. This is usually a matter of hours after use.
The same solutions sometimes works with small or large spills. If you are able to pour xylene on the spill and dilute it enough to clean up the mess, it could work. But again, this has to be done right after the spill.
For binders that have cured, xylene will not work. For this, you will need the Unbinder. A product specifically formulated for these types of situations. The unbinder needs time to work. Typically anywhere from 12 to 24 hours to break down the cured glues.
As the above picture shows, spills, especially those involving aromatic binders can look very nasty. And cleaning them up after they are cured is usually even messier if not impossible without damaging the surface. The followin video shows you how to use the Unbinder to acoomplish the job.
